Spring brings out the Garden Elves

While planting companion onions and borage in the re-wilded orchard, we discovered an abundance of earth worms busy repopulating and building healthy soil. It has taken three seasons to regenerate this orchard, but it’s back! The multi seed crop of vetch, oat flowers, daikon plus the dandelions provide an abundant habitat bringing back the pollinators. One unexpected addition to the orchard was an explosion of mouse-hunting happy (harmless) snakes. This elf could not be happier with the results.
